SEA Discovery Center is a self-supporting entity of Western Washington University and is responsible for raising 70% of its operating budget. SEA relies on individual, foundation and corporate donations to operate the free public aquarium and educational programming. SEA has served the Kitsap and surrounding communities with hands-on learning featuring marine life from the Pacific Northwest for more than 50 years.

We invite you to join us in creating a new Octopus Habitat

With your help SEA will create a new habitat for a Giant Pacific Octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini). The new Octopus Habitat will immerse visitors in the captivating world of this remarkable cephalopod, and its vital role in the delicate ecosystem of the Salish Sea. By highlighting the intelligence, adaptability and unique behaviors of the octopus, SEA seeks to foster a deeper understanding of marine life and emphasizes the importance of conservation. At SEA we believe that education changes everything.

With your support, together we will ensure the next generation of environmental stewards. Contributions help fund SEA’s hands-on STEM education to more than 20,000 annual visitors including local elementary and WWU students and will create opportunities for citizen science within our community.
